SSE acquired Airtricity in February 2008 (which held 50% of Greater Gabbard) and shortly thereafter bought out Fluor International's remaining 50% co-development stake for GBP 40m. SSE had always intended to retain only 50% and sell the rest. Project had consent at this point (granted 2007). EUR figure at the ECB 2008-05 monthly average (1.2625 EUR per GBP).

SSE sold 50% of Greater Gabbard Offshore Winds Limited to RWE npower renewables, completed on 3 November 2008, establishing the 50:50 joint venture. SSE's accounts put the proceeds at GBP 308.5m in cash: GBP 142.9m for 50% of the equity and GBP 165.6m reimbursing half the capital costs already incurred, taken over as half of the shareholder loans. Construction continued with both owners funding it through shareholder loans; the farm was fully operational from September 2012 and its export cables were sold to the OFTO in November 2013. EUR figure at the ECB 2008-11 monthly average.

From Hafrok’s transactions record
Dashed tick marks today (13 Oct 2026). The teal diamond on the spine is origination — the seabed award or round that created the project. Every other ownership event lives in the band below: one station per recorded deal, dated at its label, in deal order rather than to calendar scale. Secondary trades appear only at the interchanges; grey lines are parties whose entry or exit Hafrok’s record does not hold.

Offtake regime on record
RegimeRenewables Obligation: ~2.0 ROCs/MWh (offshore wind accredited ~2012 under ROO 2009 — rate UNCONFIRMED; no project-specific Ofgem accreditation record located)
A built project sells its power under the contract or support regime it was financed with; it is not expected to bid into new government offtake rounds. Where the record does not yet name that regime, the row says so rather than guessing.
