ScottishPower Renewables
About
The UK renewables business of Iberdrola, run as ScottishPower's renewable production division, inside a group that also owns transmission and distribution networks in Scotland, Wales and England. Its offshore wind is in British waters: the East Anglia zone off the East Anglian coast, where one farm operates, two are under construction and a third is consented, beside a half share of West of Duddon Sands in the Irish Sea and two ScotWind sites off Scotland. It shares East Anglia ONE with a 40% co-owner and East Anglia THREE with Masdar, which holds half, and holds East Anglia TWO alone. Tracked here separately from Iberdrola because the division itself originates, develops, builds and operates these projects.
Outlook
as of 2026-10ScottishPower Renewables is Iberdrola's UK renewables business; every fact here comes from Iberdrola's reports. Its operating offshore farms are East Anglia ONE (714 MW, a partner holding 40%) and half of West of Duddon Sands. Iberdrola reports 3.2 GW in development in the East Anglia zone. East Anglia THREE (1,397 MW), in which Masdar agreed in July 2025 to co-invest 50%, installed its first turbine in April 2026 and is on track for commercial operation in December 2026. East Anglia TWO (964 MW, sixth-round CfD) is under construction. East Anglia ONE North (up to 900 MW) is fully consented and, Iberdrola says, ready for the 2026 AR8 auction. A deal with Shell completed in the fourth quarter of 2025 gave it 100% of the 3 GW floating MarramWind, beside the 2 GW fixed-bottom MachairWind; both have filed offshore consent applications. Iberdrola's 2025 plan puts 80% of its EUR 6 billion UK power and customers capex for 2025 to 2028 into offshore wind, and its 2028 outlook is 5,000 MW of UK installed capacity.
